Description

Join us at Holy Grounds located at Severna Park Community Center for an evening of food and fun as we raise money to support the ongoing preservation projects at the pre-Revolutionary Rising Sun Inn located on the famed Washington Rochambeau Revolutionary Route, Generals Highway, in Crownsville, Maryland.

The Tipple and Toast Benefit Evening, hosted by The Friends of the Rising Sun Inn, will be on April 27, 2019, from 5–9:00 p.m., at Holy Grounds, 623 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, Maryland. Admission is $42 per person for non-members of the Friends organization, $35 for member of the Friends organization and $20 for children ages 12 and under. The ticket price include hors d’oeuvres, a buffet dinner, music by harpist Jan Holland, a concert by the Chesapeake Harmony Chorus, and Historical Interpreters. The dress is informal and the benefit will include a charity auction, wine and spoon pulls, and a raffle.

The Rising Sun Inn, a colonial era farmhouse and tavern located in Crownsville was built by Edward Baldwin, circa 1753, and is a rare surviving example of a pre-Revolutionary framed farmhouse.
