On February 25th, 2017 –The Minot Magic City Lions together with Service Dogs for America will be hosting the 3rd Annual “PURSES for a PURPOSE” benefiting our North Dakota wounded warriors. The Lions want to secure funds for ND veterans in need of a service dog for their invisible wounds.
The event will help raise vital funds for Service Dogs for America’s - Wounded Warrior program. A service dog can help decrease suicide, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the negative impact of traumatic brain injuries in our veterans. PTSD causes invisible wounds that lead them to check out of society and check out of life. A service dog is trained to understand their story and their needs. However, these dogs can cost up to $20,000 making this lifeline hard to afford for many.
The first two PURSES for a PURPOSE events have raised over $38,500! Those funds, along with grants and other generous donations, continue to assist our North Dakota veterans to receive their PTSD service dog at zero cost! This year, your contribution is more critical than ever as funding from the state has been drastically reduced due to budget cuts. 100% of all proceeds raised will be donated directly to the Wounded Warrior program at Service Dogs for America.
So together, let’s tell our deserving heroes………..We have your back! By attending this event, YOU will change lives. Only 200 tickets available, no reservations! 21+ ONLY.
