Welcome to our 3rd Annual Diversity Conference.

On behalf of Croydon Council’s staff networks, we cordially invite you to join us at our 3rd annual conference on Monday 23 April 2018 from 11.00am-2.30pm in the Clocktower complex of Croydon Town Hall (Braithwaite Hall).

Registration and networking from 10.15am. Conference will start 11am sharp

Our networks are:

  • Disability
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • BAME
  • Working Carers
  • LGBT+ Allies
  • Women (and Menopause sub-group)

The main purpose of the event is to showcase the great work that our networks do, sharing this with our partners, contractors, tenants, sponsors and local third sector organisations. It is also an opportunity to thank our network members for their continuing contribution.

The final programme as yet to be announced, but to give you flavour of the day, there will be:

  • Stalls
  • Speeches
  • Live music
  • Singing
  • Laughter yoga
  • Sketches
  • Dementia Friends Awareness
  • Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language taster
  • Interactive menopause workshop
  • Raffle
  • And much more!

The workshops will cover the following:

  • Laughing Yoga – come prepared to let go and enjoy a bellyful session of laughing.
  • Dementia Friends awareness – a short workshop to raise your awareness of dementia and things you can do to become more dementia aware and friendly.
  • Menopause awareness - a short workshop to raise your awareness of the menopause (open to men and women) and top tips on how you can be more menopause friendly and to be more empathetic and to gain the best from your female colleagues, friends and family if they are going through the menopause.
  • Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language (BSL) taster session. Learning how to be more confident to communicate with a Deaf person who uses BSL

Feel free to attend the workshops. No need to book onto the workshop. All workshops are less than an hour.

No lunch will be provided, so feel free to bring something to eat and drink.
