Texas Keeper Cider and Two Hives Honey are teaming up once again for the 3rd Annual Honey Festival! Come on out to the Cidery to celebrate all things bees and honey and the 3rd release of Texas Keeper's limited Honey Thief cyser! Live music will accompany a day filled with delicious honey-inspired dishes and drinks. Local honey purveyors will be offering honey for purchase, plus other honey and bee-inspired vendors on site! Finally, we welcome our resident henna artist to make sure you go home with some beautiful bee body art.

This year we are offering a limited number of tickets for a series of workshops presented by the year's participants. From a live honey extraction to a honey cocktail class, don't miss the chance to participate in these fun-filled workshops! See full schedule below and register early, as some of these workshops are very limited!

Adult tickets are are $12 and include admission, one pour of cider, and a special souvenir glass. A portion of ticket purchases will support an Austin Food and Wine Alliance grant given to one local business working in sustainable agriculture. Free for kids to attend! Advanced registration required for Indoor workshops. Workshop participants must also purchase general admission tickets to the Honey Fest.

Indoor Kitchen:

Live Honey Harvest with Two Hives Honey: Two opportunities for this limited activity (3:30-4 and 5:45-6:15pm). Witness first-hand how beekeepers harvest that liquid gold! Watch and participate in a live honey extraction, plus jar your own 3 ounce bottle of honey to take home. Don't be shocked when you go home sticky! $20

Learn to Make Gremolata with Puli-Ra: 4:15-4:45pm. Deepa of Puli-ra is sharing the secrets of one of her most beloved recipes! Come learn to make Gremolata, a chopped herb (and honey!) accompaniment that livens up so many dishes! Don't miss this opportunity to learn from one of Austin's most talked about chefs. $10

Making Honey Cocktails: Two opportunities for this limited activity (5-5:30pm and 6:30-7pm). Learn how to make three botanical cider cocktails with honey, and then get to taste the fruits of your labor in the form of a cocktail flight. At 5pm we welcome Justin Chamberlin of Cultivo, formerly with Dai Due, and at 6:30 Jessica Sanders of Drink.Well will demonstrate some cocktail magic! $20


Outdoor Tent:

Gardening for Bees with Blinking Owl Acres: 4:15-4:45 . You don't have to be a serious gardener to plant some beautiful bee-friendly flowers. Come learn about the best plants for feeding our native & honey bees year-round and pick up a free planting calendar. FREE

Honey Fermented Bread with Miche Bread: 5:45-6:15 Sandeep of Miche Bread will demonstrate how to make a rye bread that's fermented with just raw honey, a process that takes over a month to complete. Traditional honey breads date back to 10th century China. It was a food ration for Genghis Khan's riders and has been popular in France since the 1500s. FREE

DIY Herbal Tea Blends with La Flaca Farm: 5:00-5:30. Alejandra, owner of La Flaca, will be on hand to teach you all about organic herbal teas! Plus, you'll have the opportunity to pay to make your own herbal blens of tea at their booth. FREE.
