Shoot for the Stars Inc. is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization created in memory of Gregory Tucker Jr., who was a victim to Chicago’s rampant gun violence in October of 2016. In his honor, the “G-Tuck Classic” memorial basketball tournament was established in the summer of 2017 and demonstrates the positive impact basketball has as it catalyzed collaborative efforts from various communities to support Greg’s family and daughter. Shoot for the Stars inc. aims to build off that blue-print and use the game of basketball to unite, educate, and support communities all throughout Chicago, starting by emphasizing and progressing this tournament.
