3rd Annual CCSU Walk To Defeat ALS
Sun, April 23, 2017, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT
On April 18, 2015, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Connecticut Alpha Chapter, hosted a walk on Central Connecticut State University's campus to raise money for The ALS Association and spread awareness of Lou Gehrig's Disease.
In Fall of 2014, when the idea of the very first walk on campus came about, our chapter set a goal of raising $10,000 for The ALS Association by the end of the school year in May. On April 18th, we not only reached our goal, but we crushed it by raising $12,060!
Because our 2015 walk went so well, with the support from CCSU and The Student Government Association, we then hosted our 2nd Annual walk in 2016 and now will host our 3rd Annual Walk To Defeat ALS on CCSU Campus!
The walk opening and closing ceremony will take place at Vance Lawn in the center of campus. There will be rock walls, a dunk tank, inflatable obstacle courses, and food trucks, including a fried dough truck! Event Registration is only a $20 donation and those who donate $75 or more will receive an Event T-Shirt on the day of the walk!
For the year 2017, we have set a new goal of raising $15,000, and with your help, we can not just reach it, but crush our goal like last year! Please help us spread the word! Thank you and we'll see you in April!
Check-In for this event will be at 11:00AM, but the walk itself will start at 12:00PM.
~The New York Yankees' Legend and MLB Hall of Famer, Lou "The Iron Horse" Gehrig, was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and as his brothers, Connecticut Alpha raises money for The ALS Association. IronPhi is a program in partner with The ALS Association that brings members of our fraternity together to raise money and awareness for ALS by particpating in walks and hosting fundraisers. By joining us for this walk around Central Connecticut State University, you will be benefiting our brother, Lou Gehrig, and all those who are suffering from ALS as well as the families affected by this horrible Neurological Disease.
