Advocacy & Psychology Workshop

United We Stand...Together We Can Achieve More!


Enhance your understanding of current issues impacting the mental health of our local community. Learn how to turn knowledge into action and become an effective advocate for an impassioned issue. Please join us to learn how to advocate for the mental health of those in our community!

Workshop will focus on:

  • Understanding effective advocacy techniques

  • Meet others interested in various advocacy issues

  • Begin to develop an advocacy strategy

  • Attend breakout groups on specific issues

  • Connect with others to enhance advocacy efforts

  • Network with representatives from organizations in your area

PROGRAM:

8:30am - Registration and check in

9-10am - Opening Address

10-11 am - Student Symposium

11am - 12:30pm - Breakout sessions, Presentation and Dialogue

Breakout Session Options:

- Dr. Michelle Melton Presents on Human Rights

- Dr. Jon McCain Presents on Intimate Partner Violence


OPTIONAL INFORMAL NETWORKING LUNCH 1PM - 3PM – Pf Chang’s (Parking validated)
