Immersion #1: Building a Discipling Culture

A 3DM Learning Community is a two-year journey of practical training, strategic planning, and community building. We will gather four times over the two years for intensive four-day Immersions and each team leader will be in a weekly online Coaching Huddle. We begin the journey by learning how to make disciples the way Jesus did, then how to multiply disciples by training them to make disciples, then we focus on how to build an extended family on mission like that of Jesus, and finally how to become part of a Kingdom movement larger that goes beyond our own local church or organization.
Our first Immersion is called "Building a Discipling Culture." We will begin with biblical basis of Jesus-shaped discipleship, introduce some discipling tools and a vehicle for intentional discipleship called Huddle. Your team will come away equiped to implement a plan that includes starting your first Huddle. You will want to come with a team of at least three and up to seven people. Large churches often bring multiple teams. We encourage participants to bring their spouses if at all possible.
Check in begins at 1:30 PM on Monday. Plan to join us for a potluck dinner on Monday and Tuesday evenings (we will give you time to pick up food a local restaurants or stores before dinner). Also, plan on spending Wednesday afternoon and evening together as a team, finalizing your plan and celebrating what God is doing. We will wrap up by lunchtime on Thursday.
In preparation for the Immersion we encourage all team members to read the book Empowering Missional Discples and Building a Discipling Culture as preparation for the event.
