Event description

Description

Learn how to build you own 3D bioprinter – and take it home too!

This 3-day hands-on workshop will introduce individuals and teams to 3D printing of soft and biological materials using open-source hardware developed by the Regenerative Biomaterials & Therapeutics Group at Carnegie Mellon University.

Attendees will learn how to assemble and operate an open-source 3D bioprinting platform; receive in-depth training on the FRESH 3D bioprinting technique; and connect to a growing network of researchers working to advance 3D printing of soft and biological materials.

The program includes keynote presentations from leading 3D bioprinting experts, tutorials related to the assembly and use of the 3D bioprinter, guided construction and testing of the 3D printers, as well as networking opportunities.

The program will run December 17-19, 2018 with a tentative daily schedule of 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Participation fee:

  • $3000 for an individual participant plus $300 per additional participant from the same group (maximum of 3 participants from one group)
  • The fee includes all materials, instruction and support, one completed 3D bioprinter (per team), shipping of the bioprinter to the participant's home institution (additional fees may apply to ship the printer outside the US), lunch and snacks all 3 days of the workshop as well as evening networking activities.

Travel and overnight accommodations are not included. Recommendations in the area will be provided to the selected applicants once participation is confirmed.
