Event description
In this 8-week online course you will learn teaching and learning perspectives for equity, reflect, collaborate, and deepen your practice.

About this event

3CSN's Equity 101 is an 8-week online course intended to create a space for educators to learn some of the many teaching and learning perspectives for equity, and to reflect, collaborate, and deepen our practice as educators.

Equity is praxis (reflection in action upon the world to transform it); equity is the result of on-going inquiry into our theories and practices, and at its core is the goal of social justice.

This is not a how-to-equity class; rather, it’s a place for educators to inquire into effectively facilitating learning and success for diverse students, engage in praxis, and build a community of learners with the intent of achieving equity for our students.

Course dates: June 7 - August 1, 2021

Texts: Provided in the course.

Platform: Online Canvas course with optional Zoom meetings.  (Please note: this is not a self-paced course; over the 8 weeks, we'll have 8 different modules that we'll move through as a cohort.)

Cost: $175

Hours to complete: 45

Certificate:  Upon successful completion, participants will get a certificate to verify hours completed.

Optional Units:   Three (3) post-baccalaureate units will be available for an additional cost ($300, or $100 per unit) from California State University-Dominguez Hills, College of Extended Education. Purchasing CEUs is completely optional, and not required for registration in the course. Course facilitators will provide more information about signing up for the units after the course has begun.
