36 Week Midwife Chat

This class is for families with due dates between 2/24/18 AND 3/16/18

The Midwife Chat is a combined prenatal appointment and class. It is designed to be a review of your classes, and your final instructions before labor begins. Only 1 registration per family is needed.

Families are eligible to attend the chat anywhere between 34 weeks to the end of their 36th week. We will be collecting the Group Beta Strep (GBS) test sometime in your 36th week (but not earlier or later), so most families find it more convenient to attend the chat in their 36th week. It isn’t necessary to coordinate the two, but if you attend the chat in your 34th or 35th week, you will need to stop by MMC during your 36th week to get the GBS test done. This would just be a quick visit and would not require you to see a nurse or midwife.

At the chat, you and your partner will check in for a quick 10 minute exam with a midwife or nurse, then join the class for discussion. We will review some items discussed in your classes such as when to call the midwife, the birth center rules, emergency rapid childbirth, postpartum visits and more. Prepare to be here approximately 2 hours. Please arrange childcare for your current child(ren).

There is no additional charge for this class.

Partners must attend – no exceptions.
