The Holiday Home Tour sponsored by the Westchester Mental Health Guild is an annual community event, now in its 35th year, which helps neighbors get to know neighbors and brings people together to raise money for a good cause, the Airport Marina Counseling Service (AMCS).

This year the tour will feature five distinctive houses in Westchester and Playa del Rey, on Sunday, November 5, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are two homes in Playa del Rey and three in Westchester, each decorated for a holiday. The homes this year include a castle-like three-story Playa del Rey view home, decorated for Christmas, a two-story art gallery of the owner’s work in a Playa del Rey home decorated for Thanksgiving; a one-story Westchester bungalow with guest house, decorated for Halloween; a newly renovated two-story Westchester craftsman home, decorated in tranquil colors for fall; and a totally modified two-story Westchester “smart” home with pool house, decorated to entertain for New Years.

After the tour, enjoy a festive reception at the Westchester Elks Lodge, where there will also be a special one-day holiday marketplace with a variety of vendors, selling everything from jewelry to dishtowels to chocolate to holiday décor. The reception and marketplace will be open noon until 5 p.m.

The Holiday Home Tour is the Guild’s largest fundraiser of the year. Net proceeds from the event support AMCS, an outpatient mental health clinic which provides thousands of hours of child, adult and family mental health counseling services annually to people in our community, with a small paid staff. The clinic has established outreach programs to local elementary and high schools, providing child therapy and preventive intervention. AMCS also trains mental health therapists.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

This is a self-driving tour. Maps will be available at the Elks Lodge, 8025 Manchester, where there is parking behind the building. You will receive a map and a printed ticket at that time. When you drive to each house, you will need to park on the street. We encourage carpooling.

What can I bring into the event?

Please do not bring food or drinks to the houses, and do not plan on taking pictures inside the homes. Also, please do not wear high heeled shoes.

What's the refund policy?

Because this is a charitable fundraiser, no refunds are permitted.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not have to bring your printed Eventbrite receipt to the Elks Lodge as we will have your name on our list. After you get your printed tour ticket at the Elks, you will need to present that ticket at each house.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Your ticket is transferable, but in that event, it would be best for the person to whom you transfer it to bring your printed Eventbrite receipt to the Elks Lodge and perhaps also inform us by email at: hometour16@gmail.com, , as that would simplify things for us.
