Alameda Photographic Society Members who judge photo competitions will talk about various aspects of judging photos.
About this event
If you are a member of a photography club and submit photos for judging, this talk may help you get better results.
The following topics will be included:
- Titles: What works, why have them, how are they used by judges (if they are used at all). The use of what appears to be travel titles in pictorial or monochrome.
- How are judges selected for our competitions.
- What is the process from our club (APS) to N4C?
- What are PSA competitions?
- Rules; re-submitting your images, what is disqualification
- What is good street photography?
- Judge's bias; exotic subjects vs more mundane (zebra births vs dog births)
- How much is too much? For example HDR, saturation.
