Friends Who Are Going
Event description

What is the "343 Tribute Crucible?"

The 343 Tribute Crucible is an opportunity for growth! This event was created as a way to pay TRIBUTE to the men and women in uniform who sacrafice everything to protect us in our communities, specifically the men and women in the fire service. This is a chance to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually by "getting outside of yourself."

What to Expect:

You will spend 30+ hours in a team-based setting as you face a series of evolutions designed to bring the group together and reflect on the sacrifices of others. The evolutions are designed to challenge your perspectives, assist in personal reflection, and break down the pride we all harbor, by learning first-hand there is strength in humility.

You will pay specific TRIBUTE to the fallen firefighers of 9/11. The event will be held on the same weekend as the 16th anniversary of the attacks. The actions of the few to render aid to the lives of the many is a defining human element that we will embrace and respect throughout the event.

This is NOT a boot camp. You will not spend hours in the front leaning rest. Your coaches are not drill instructors. The coaches are asked to wear a few different hats which include being a mentor, a coach, a teacher, a motivator, an advocate and hopefully by the end a friend.

We are NOT here to wash you out. We are here to provide an experience second to none. To guide you through the experience. If you face a set back we will be there to unplug you, get you some rest and then plug you back in when you are ready so that you can finish as a team.

There will be down time to eat, drink, patch up blisters, change socks, journal, and regroup.

Buuuuut you will not be sleeping...we have a lot to accomplish and not that much time to do it in!

Ultimate Goal:

Give you an awesome experience in the great outdoors, unplugged, high on natural catecholamines, with great people for a great cause!

I am a collegiate athlete, an intense businessman, a triathlete and a Father of 5. In these 30+ hours, I learned more about myself than the previous 36 years. There is something immensely special about being cold, sleep deprived, inspired by the sacrifice of others, lacking basic energy and battling mentally. I've never faced all of these things at once, and so fiercely. The 343 event is a moment in time like none other where you really learn what you are made of, who you are and what matters in life. -Michael Birchall, business owner @ Elite

The 343 Tribute Crucible is an event where you not only will see what you are made of, you will see the goodness and toughness of what others are also made of. You'll come away with an appreciation of humanity, having a renewed sense of hope for the future because of the realization you will have when in the face of struggle you will witness the strength of the incredible human spirit. -Jenna Hansen, owner @AwakenStudios and @AwakenRetreats

The 343 Tribute Crucible was the best, and most challenging experience of my life. It was ran so efficiently and I immediately felt like I was a part of something bigger. The physical demands were hard, but so worth it. My eyes were opened to what our first responders have gone through in the past, along with what they still go through. I have so much love and respect for the fire fighters, especially those that I grew closer to during the event. I would do this event again and again. -Chelsea Rupp, former owner @ GSL CrossFit

This event was the single most defining experience of my life and created memories experiences and bonds that transcends ordinary life. -Ryan Facer, DDS, Father, Husband and does not have a working ACL in either knee!

As a father, especially of all daughters, I’m constantly striving to become more prepared to keep them safe and provide for their needs and wants. This event tried me physically but really awakened my senses to where I’m at mentally. Could I have kept going? Yes. But the trainings provided by the mentors really challenged me to the point where I realized, I am nowhere ready for a real emergency in my family. In addition, the team aspect was very real and refreshing. To come in as strangers and immediately bond as family was incredible. There was absolutely no sense of “me” but of “we”. We were all going to finish no matter what. Phillip Niu, Founder @ParachutCo

Steel sharpens steel! Surround yourself with people that are better than you, that inspire you, that make you want to be a better person. I can do hard things. I love people. There’s so much good in this world if we will just focus on the good.JJ Peterson HIIT Trainer and Personal Trainer on Fit to Fat to Fat featured on A&E

I think that journey is very much a compressed version of life itself. Where you can learn to enjoy even the hardest of moments as you lean on your brother. Over the course of 32 sleepless hours, I gained real life skills through unique experiences, developed a greater respect for the freedoms I enjoy, and built friendships that will last a lifetime. Blake Tillotson Entrepreneur @ NuSkin Enterprises

As a personal trainer I have had the chance to share my entire experience with my clients and have a renewed approach to be able to push them through harder things. There has not be an hour that has gone by in my day, every day, without a memory of our weekend. Kasey Payzant owner @VigorUtah, Endurance Enthusiast

The power of that group and the weekend was very special. Although I've experienced those things before, it is always amazing to me how much people can do when they work together, work for a cause, and tap into their reserves. We are capable of so much more than we think.Rob Stafford, Salt Lake City Fire Training Captain, 343 Coach
