"Racism Today: Unpacking The Myth of the North/South Divide"
When it comes to America’s racial sins, past and present, a lot of us see people in one region of the country as guiltier than the rest. Join renowned journalists and podcasters John Biewen & Dr. Chenjerai Kumanyika for a robust and engaging presentation about the history and present day geography of racism in the US. Face questions like: Charlottesville, could that happen here? And is racism (or was it ever) a distinctly Southern problem?
FEATURING NATIONALLY RENOWNED JOURNALISTS:
John Biewen is audio program director at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University (CDS), and host and producer of the CDS podcast Scene on Radio.
Dr. Chenjerai Kumanyika is a researcher, journalist, an artist who works as an assistant professor in Rutgers University’s Department of Journalism and Media Studies.
