About this event
On Saturday, May 7, 2022, honoring the 153rd anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, the California State Railroad Museum, The California State Railroad Museum Foundation and the Purple Silk Music Education Foundation are proud to host a performance by the Great Wall Youth Orchestra (GWYO), titled “All Aboard The Eastbound Train” at the California State Railroad Museum , Old Sacramento State Historic Park, 125 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.
The GWYO will debut the music enjoyed by Chinese railroad workers. Their performance will be followed by a documentary film on Chinese railroad workers, titled “Going Home” produced by Min Zhou. The performance attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the Railroad Museum, view life size trains models, and history of the building of the railroad and artifacts. Excursion train rides are available through tickets purchased with the Museum.
