Event description

Description

Join the fun in celebrating 30 years of litter cleanups that have improved streams, lakes, wetlands, parks and neighborhoods across Wake County. We'll applaud the hard work and impressive results of our Wake County Big Sweep Zone Captains and thousands of volunteers. The evening's highlight is a showing of STRAWS, a film about plastic pollution, followed by a Q&A with local film maker Linda Booker. STRAWS is ultimately a tale about how small actions can lead to big change -- like Big Sweep! (http://www.strawsfilm.com/).

Every guest will be entered in drawings for door prizes! Enjoy delicious wraps by Carroll's Kitchen, a nonproft social enterprise restaurant creating healthy employment for women overcoming traumas from homelessness, incarceration, addiction, and domestic violence (https://www.carrollskitchen.org/). Dessert will be crafted by Broughton High School's culinary students in honor of their school's S.A.F.E. Club (Student Action For the Environment) that will celebrate their 20th Anniversary of Big Sweep cleanups in 2020. Adult beverages are generously provided by Mims Distributing, winner of the 2018 Big Sweep Partnership Award. Gluten-free and vegan cookies will be baked with love from Whole Foods Market Wellspring Bakehouse.

REGISTRATION: All guests must register for a "FREE" Eventbrite ticket to attend. You do not need to bring the actual ticket to the event. If you register through Eventbrite, your name and the name of your guests will be on our master Guest List. Space is limited so register today!

To register, please click the green REGISTER button above. Use the drop down menu to select one or more tickets (5 maximum.) You'll receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite. Once theatre capacity is reached and registration is closed, a Waiting List will be made.
