FAQs

My son has never attended a lacrosse clinic, but plays with friends all the time and wants to play lacrosse this spring. Can he participate in both November and December?

The November clinics are meant for boys who have been practicing the basics and are ready to learn more about the game. If your player knows how to properly hold a stick, and can cradle, throw and catch, he may participate in the November clinics.

My daughter has never attended a lacrosse clinic, but plays with friends all the time and wants to play lacrosse this spring. Can she participate in both?

The November girls' clinics are open to girls in 5th-12th who want to play on a spring lacrosse team. The clinics are still intended for girls who have had minimal exposure to lacrosse and wish to continue practicing their developing skills in an instructional environment. The December clinics are open to girls in 5th-12th who are new to lacrosse and want to just try it out!

The clinic reached capacity and I couldn't get my player registered, is there any chance he/she will get an opportunity to play?

Yes! These clinics are a last minute addition to the winter line-up of area lacrosse activities. At this time, Dunlap will be planning pre-season warmup clinics for beginners and returning players in late January (same time and location of these clinics) open to all teams. Please contact the Dunlap Lacrosse Club (dunlaplax@gmail.com) and Washington Lacrosse Club (4washingtonlacrosse@gmail.com) for more information on their planned activities.

Will there be equipment to borrow? Can I bring my own?

Yes, and yes. Washignton and Dunlap programs will work with you to get your player loaner equipment. In your registration, you will be asked to provide your player's size requirements (boys), and the gear will be handed out prior to the start of each clinic night. You may also bring your own lacrosse gear.

My player wants to be a goalie. Will he/she still play that position in the clinics?

No, because even goalies neeed to know how the game is played! All clinics will cover all game basics, even defense. Future clinics will focus on this position.

Is there a minimum age requirement for the clinics?

In order to avoid player injury, no one below 4th grade or over 8th grade should attend the boys' clinics due to possible player size differences. Girls can be 5th grade through high school. The only requirement is that all players WANT to play lacrosse. The coaches will expect enthusiasm, effort, and a desire to learn the game.

What can I bring into the event?

Just a water bottle. A restaurant and/or concessions should be available.

How can I contact an organizer with any questions?

Tom Jester, 309 Lacrosse (tjjester29@gmail.com)

Catherine D'Souza, Dunlap Youth Lacrosse (dunlaplax@gmail.com)

Washington Lacrosse (4washingtonlacrosse@gmail.com)

Ali Sours, Morton Lacrosse (alisours@gmail.com)

What's the refund policy?

Due to the limited size of the clinics, refunds are not available.
