Description

What is a 30/30 Session?

A 30/30 Sessions is a mini training session that last up to 30 minutes. Typically the session is devoted to only one or two aspects of technology to create a very focused session. After the 30 mini session, participants are encouraged to practice in the Faculty Lab. Participants are welcome to stay in the optional lab portion of the session as long as needed, but typically 30 minutes will be sufficient for them to get started using the featured technology presented. Because the 30/30 sessions can be repeated, the "open lab" is optional, and may be offered via webinar, CEU's are not able to be tracked for the 30/30 sessions. (0.0 CEU)

Workshop Description:

This 30/30 session will focus on helping participants use Release Conditions in Brightspace. Most assignments and Content can be released for students to veiw based on various conditions. These conditions may be based on a variety of performance types. For example, Course work modules may not be available until a student has made a score of 90 or greater on the "Getting Started" Quiz. Or Module 2 may not be available until the learner has attempted the quiz for Module 1 or read a specific content item. A Discussion Topic may not open until the learners visit a content item or complete another type of assignment. The purpose of the different conditions is to help guide the learner through the content/course in an effective manner, or make sure they are ready for the next task or learning module. Keep in mind, caution needs to be used so that the course is still easy for the learner to navigate...but we'll cover those tips, too.

During the first 30 minutes of the session, Travis Hurst will share an brief overview of the different release conditions and demontrate how they might be used in a couse design. The next 30 minutes of the session will be an open lab. Participants can stay and practice setting up a release condition in one of their courses. The open lab is optional.

FYI: We use digital registration...no printed ticket is needed.
