3 @ the table | potter chef farmer

3 @ the table is dedicated to the vibrant food community already taken deep root in Hawaii. 'the table' is the metaphoric meeting place for island hospitality and sustainability. 3 @ the table's intent is for chefs and farmers of the farm-to-table movement to extend the conversation by inviting ceramicist/potters to the table.

conceived by wendy tsuji, hawaii born interior designer living in san francisco, 3 @ the table will feature an inspired collection of handmade dishware created as a result of a dialog between 3 island ceramicists and 3 pairs of chefs and their farmers, introduced to each other by tsuji

tickets are $30. proceeds of ticket sales will go towards buying ONE TON OF CLAY for hawai'i potters' guild's educational outreach program for keikis of palama settlement.


3 @ the table | program

tsuji will present a brief talk and slide show beginning at 630 pm showing us the rigorous process of handmade dishware being developed for use in restaurants and what inspired 3 @ the table.


tsuji's presentation will be followed by an informal sake pouring by our friends from joy of sake. you will take home a hand turned sake cup by one of the evening's 3 participating potters.


pupus will be provided by prima kailua with chef kevin lee + co. potter steve martin shares his handmade porcelain dishware styled for prima's foods. and in the true spirit of 3 @ the table, chef ed kenney and potter daven hee are planning a special savory kiln fired dish. and last but not least, chef peter merriman one of hawaii regional cuisine's original founding members, will be alongside potter clayton amemiya's anagama-fired clayware.

the dishware will be available for sale during the event, and to the general public the following week in the white box @ fishcake at a special discount.

we welcome you to enjoy a lively evening of tasting, learning and talk with our creative community, against a gallery of beautiful ceramics, food and fresh produce. see how a new relationship between potter, chef and farmer furthers creative exchange and grows sustainable practices.
