Description

Starting a community garden takes more than simple gardening knowledge. Find out how to start and sustain a community garden with the UF/IFAS Extension Pasco County, Community Gardener Master Course. This course will cover topics such as: how to create a mission statement, discuss waivers/safety, basic gardening, and how to improve soil quality. The tentative class schedule is as follows:

March 17 , 2018: How to Create a Community Garden

March 24, 2018: Vegetable Families, Different Gardening Techniques, Harvesting, and IPM

March 31, 2018: Composting, Garden Maintenance, Seed Saving, and Preparing for the Off Season

COURSE FEE: $200.00 (covers all materials)

For groups of 5+ people employed with a 501(c)3, the public school district, or a county government, a $50 dollar discount will be applied to each person. Contact Eden Santiago-Gomez at esantiagogomez@pascocountyfl.net for more information.
