2nd Annual Thriller 5k Trail Race
Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM (CDT)
Run. Drink. Be Happy.
The 2nd Annual Thriller is a 5k trail race followed by music, locally crafted beer, and food. We know that you’re already sold just by reading that, but we’ll continue with our description.
The 5k course will take you over downed trees, through the woods, over creeks, and through mud (check out the photos on our Google+ and Facebook page). The course is half single track and half wider trails and will be very well marked. It’s a great course for those new to trail running, but also challenging enough for the seasoned trail runner.
All participants will receive a bib, race t-shirt, a customized 2013 Thriller 5k pint glass, a free Chicago-style hot dog bar, free soft drinks, and one free beer (for participants of legal age).
There will be a "Best Costume" contest following the race, so be sure to dress to the nines!
After the race you can fill your pint glass with locally crafted beer. We will also have music and food so that you can hang out and relax. Beer and food are the top two reasons you run in the first place, so you may as well treat yourself. Results will be live streamed on our big screen as well as online so you can prove to your friends that you didn't just sit around and drink Old Style all weekend.
Price schedule is as follows:
$28 until August 31
$30 from September 1 to September 30
$35 from October 1 to race day
Get a team of 5 or more together and save!
The race will begin at 10am on Sunday, October 27, 2013.
When & Where
We love people. We love Chicago. We love trail running. And we love good beer. We thought it would be a good idea to combine them all. Why not, right?
Our goal is to provide Chicagoland with the best possible trail running experience. From the course design to the staff at the aid stations to the beer served at the after party, our #1 goal is for you to have the best time possible.
We are partnering with local small businesses in the Chicagoland area to start a series of trail races beginning in the fall of 2012.
Hope to see you on the trail soon!
