Santa Clara Family Health Foundation and FIRST 5 Santa Clara County present the 2nd Annual Symposium on the Status of Children's Health in Santa Clara County. The Symposium will present a current update on health coverage and health outcomes and indicators for children in Santa Clara County. The purpose of the Symposium is to inform and raise awareness of the importance of children’s health and provide a benchmark for our community. The intent is that our symposium will help to provide valuable knowledge that our community will be able to use as they develop frameworks to increase the health and well-being of children in Santa Clara County over the next few years.
This year we are excited to announce Marian Wright Edelman as our keynote speaker. Mrs. Edelman, founder and president of the Children's Defense Fund (CDF), has been an advocate for disadvantaged Americans for her entire professional life. Under her leadership, CDF has become the nation’s strongest voice for children and families. The Children's Defense Fund’s Leave No Child Behind® mission is to ensure every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start, and a Moral Start in life and successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities.
