About this Event

Participants will be part of an interactive symposium in which they will be provided information, resources and tools to help providers successfully work with their patients with smoking cessation efforts. The event will include live and virtual options. It will be streamed live from three sites (Charles Drew University in Los Angeles, Google Community Space in San Francisco, and University of California at Davis in Sacramento). Learning objectives for the 2nd annual Smoking Cessation Day

1. Elaborate on the national efforts to reduce the rates of cigarette smoking

2. Discuss the pros and cons of e-cigarettes to aid in smoking cessation

3. Give examples of how the California Smokers Hotline can be used to help with smoking cessation

4. Discuss the latest information on Group Behavioral Therapy for Smoking Cessation

5. Explain new approaches in Smoking Cessation Pharmacotherapy

The TRDRP Smoking Cessation Day symposium meets the qualifications for the provision of six (6.0) continuing education credits/contact hours (CEs/CEHs). UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs (Provider #64812). UCLA ISAP maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content. Course meets the qualifications for six (6.0) hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. UCLA ISAP is also an approved provider of continuing education for RADTs I/II, CADCs-CASs, CADCs I/II, CADCs-CSs, and LAADCs (CCAPP, #2N-00-445-1121), CATCs (ACCBC/CAADE, #CP40 872 C 0822), and CAODCs (CADTP, #151). CE credit will be awarded at the conclusion of the day for full participation. Partial credit will not be available for those participants who arrive late or leave early.
