About this Event

Founder, Lynette Trares Announces the 2nd Annual Survivor Fashion Week©

St. Louis, MO., July 4, 2019 – The BreastInk Project has recently announced its 2nd Survivor Fashion Week©. The event will hold on October 10th & 11th, 2019 at The Foundry Art Center. The Survivor Fashion Week© is aimed at benefiting cancer survivors and Siteman Cancer Center with featuring Survivor Models and local Eco Fashion Designer Kelley Hoffman of ReFash Studios, LA Designer Kevin Glazer, Lindenwood University Fashion Design Students and more...

“Cancer is a big challenge, but what is more challenging is that millions of people are being diagnosed and trying to overcome this challenge. Although things may not be the same after a cancer diagnosis, the survivors who came out of it strong deserve any support and encouragement they can get. The BreastInk Project is doing all it can to contribute its quota to breast cancer survivors.” Said Lynette Trares.

Cancer survivors may be faced with physical, emotional, social and financial challenges due to their cancer diagnosis and treatment. Some of them are confronted with limited access to specialists, a lack of adequate information about promising new treatments, as well as inadequate insurance and other challenges.

Founded in October 2016 by a Licensed Tattooist Lynette Trares, the BreastInk Project is a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit organization providing outreach and support for breast cancer survivors. These cancer survivors are usually underinsured and in need of no-cost breast nipple tattoo and financial assistance for economic needs during treatment. With help from sponsors, organized fundraisers, community-building events, and in-depth training sessions for their volunteers, The BreastInk Project serves women as a reliable Breast Cancer resource.

The BreastInk Project, as a non-profit organization, donates 100% of its net proceeds from its Survivor Fashion Week© event to the Siteman Cancer Center’s Breast Cancer Fund. This fund goes a long way in helping cancer survivors with outreach, clinical trials, and programs that improve quality of life during treatment and recovery.

The BreastInk Project welcomes those who are passionate about their program and would like to support in one way or another, either through monetary donations, volunteering of your time or spreading their mission through word-of-mouth.

Last year, 2018, inaugural Survivor Fashion Week headline designer was Breast cancer survivor, Dana Donofree, CEO of AnaOno. She has gone viral on the New York Times for her Shows at New York Fashion Week. Survivor Fashion Week had 9 Breast cancer survivors walk in their show last year. They raised a combined total of $15,000.00 in tickets sales and gift in kind.

Once again The Survival Fashion Week© will hold on October 10th & 11th, 2019 at The Foundry Art Center, St. Charles, Missouri
