Event Information
Description
Let your Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday weekend include a stop at the 2nd Annual NoMi Mac and Cheese Fest, featuring award winning R&B recording artist, Kelly Price live in concert! The North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA) and the City of North Miami will host the festival Saturday, Jan. 19, from 2 – 8 p.m., at North Miami’s Griffing Park. Bring your lawn chairs, dancing shoes and appetite for an event you don't want to miss.
Kelly Price’s live musical performance will keep the crowd dancing at this free, fun-filled, family event, formally known as “MADD About NoMi.” Hot 105 Radio Personality, Jill Tracey, will serve as the 2019 NoMi Mac and Cheese Fest emcee.
This year’s event will once again feature an eclectic variety of South Florida’s best homemade mac and cheese, which will be sampled and judged during the Hungry Black Man Mac and Cheese Showdown, hosted by Johnson and Wales University. The area’s premiere home bakers will put their skills to the test during the Bake-Off, hosted by the Florida International University Culinary Arts Department. This year’s Tasting Tent, will offer dozens of food samplings from top rated local restaurants, curated by Miami-Dade College. The festival also will include local food vendors, activities for kids, arts and crafts, health screenings and more.
The NoMi Mac and Cheese Fest is free and open to all. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. For more information about the event or the NMCRA, visit www.NorthMiamiCRA.org.
