2nd Annual L.O.V.E. Gala for Sacred Ground Ministries
Event Information
Description
Sacred Ground Ministries is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Chicago, Illinois. Sacred Ground provides mentoring services and meaningful life enrichment for young people. Sacred Ground’s mission is to expand opportunities and outcomes for at-risk youth in Greater Grand Crossing. Since 2012, Sacred Ground has helped set up mentoring programs, student workshops, parent forums, and Teen Town Hall sessions and funded scholarships to Hirsch graduates. Sacred Ground is proud to host our 2nd Annual Light Outshines Violence Everyday (L.O.V.E.) Gala, inspired by Matthew 5:16: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” With new development in our communities, we want to provide our youth with the skills needed to compete in the workforce, from skilled trades to college education. We need your support to help our students reach their full academic and personal career potential!
All proceeds from the Gala will help fund our mentoring, tutoring, and college- and job-readiness programs. The Gala will feature dinner, a raffle, live performances, keynote speaker Elder Isaac C. Hayes, Assistant Pastor at Apostolic Church of God; and remarks from the Honorable Timothy C. Evans, Chief Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court and Hirsch High School alumnus. The Gala will be moderated by ABC 7's Evelyn Holmes.
We are hoping to raise enough funds to build our full-time tutoring program at Hirsch High School for the 2017-18 school year. Please join us to get introduced to Sacred Ground’s work and contribute to our mission to bring L.O.V.E. and hope to all of our young people!
