ReScripted is a trauma-informed intervention anchored in embodiment practices that utilizes the power of play, theater and movement to promote the development of a whole healthy self focused on children and teens. ReScripted is guided by the tagline, “act. embody. and empower.”, which is brought to life by inviting students to remain connected to their embodied experience as they explore the choices they are making in the scenes that are developed. In addition there is a focus on some specific skill modules including problem solving, identity development, and perspective taking.

Healing a traumatized body through Expressive Flamenco©
Expressive Flamenco© is an emerging expressive arts practice that explores holistic healing possibilities within the art of Flamenco. This therapeutic dance practice allows the prescribed movements of flamenco dance to attune your attention inward with the goal of connecting with your authentic self. This holistic, embodied approach was born of an effort to heal a personal trauma that manifested a severe somatic condition in the body. The personal journey of healing a body in stress will be shared and attendees of this workshop will be guided in the applied practice of Expressive Flamenco© to connect with your true self in order to grow in self-realization, wholeness, and wellbeing.
Work-shop will include an experiential component.

Rebuilding the House by Tending to the Harm: A Conversation To Heal Organizations
Given the complex work of practitioners, service providers, and leaders in the trauma field, it is critical to be aware of the possible ways in which we can enact harm within our own organizations. When we neglect relationships and fail to critique our systems, we run the risk of upholding oppressive dynamics and perpetuating complacency of larger systems of oppression. This workshop will explore context and skills to build capacity for addressing harm at multiple levels and apply principles to create trusting communities within organizations. It will also introduce strategies to develop and maintain vicarious trauma-informed organizations.
Presenter: Dominique A. Malebranche, Ph.D.

Integrating Yoga Into Peer Support Groups for Survivors of Sexual Violence

A short (10-15 minute) TC-TSY practice will be included in this session.

The Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Studio of the Future: A Foundation for Person-Centered Psychospiritual Maturation
As Humanity’s Chain of Pain—the toxic intergenerational transmission of trauma—grows in magnitude and intensity, it threatens to overwhelm our depleted mental health care system. We must shift our focus from crisis intervention to prevention strategies that address root causes of these problems, including oppressive group-based social dominance hierarchies. In this workshop, participants will explore how trauma-sensitive yoga clinicians can incorporate methods of person-centered psychospiritual maturation, transforming the yoga studio into a sanctuary for preventive approaches to individual and social well-being.
Workshop will include an experiential component.
Presenter: Jared Kass
Community Healing Embodied
Can a rape survivor heal in rape culture? Healing from trauma is often inextricably connected to society, culture, privilege and oppression. This presentation showcases some ways that communities can create physical representations of connection and solidarity. The presenter will highlight her successful initiative in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to build the first public, permanent Memorial to Survivors of Sexual Violence. What does it mean to make physical space in our world for monuments to survivors?
