Event description

Description

For the second year, BANC and Lift360 bring our innovative, hands-on Community Leadership Program to Bethel to prepare YOU for involvement with a nonprofit organization in our community. This is an accessible professional development opportunity offered right in your backyard!

Whether you are already involved, want to get involved or learn more about our thriving community, this four-session training program covers topics on the nonprofit sector in Maine, including board governance, financials, and fundraising. By attending, you’ll learn about many of the exceptional organizations in the Bethel area from the presentations, small group activities, panelists and other program participants.

Here is what 2016 BANC CLP participants had to say:

"This workshop series is a 'must attend' opportunity for anyone associated with a nonprofit whether you are a staff person or board member. I learned what my leadership style is as well as the skills that are essential for being an effective nonprofit leader. I especially appreciated the format for the workshops which combined learning about my skills and style as well as hearing from local leaders about their experiences governing and leading nonprofits." Mia Purcell

"BANC is a great group. Even if you don't jump right in and sit on a board, I feel it's important to know what is going on in the community in which you live and who is involved. I found the series of evenings that BANC put together to be inspiring, educational, and enlightening when it comes to how we can all contribute to the betterment of the area." Brian Simpson

"I participated in all four sessions of the BANC Community Leadership Program. I knew being asked to be on a board was an honor, but I didn't fully understand the full weight of the responsibility. The program helped me understand the scope of challenges that face non-profits in our community, but more importantly, it helped me see the great opportunities for us ahead." Wade Kavanaugh

The sessions run from 4-7PM on September 11, 12, 19 and 20. $100 for all four sessions; $25.00 for any one. Refreshments are provided each evening. Bonus this year: beer and wine available for purchase!
