Did you know that in the late 1800s, Washington, DC was home to numerous Black bike clubs, like the Anacostia Cycle Club and Hannibal Athletic Club?

The second annual Chocolate City Community Ride, hosted by Major Knox Adventures (MKA), is a wellness event and youth bike giveaway that celebrates this legacy of bikes in Chocolate City while fusing its culture together.

After a word from featured professional cyclists, including L39ion of LA and Washington, DC’s own Sam Boardman, about how bikes impact their lives, a mobile gogo truck will lead riders through DC's historic neighborhoods.

This community ride aims to be inclusive of all ages and abilities, focusing on engaging youth and connecting them to bike programs while advancing the growth of cycling in historically underrepresented communities.

The 2nd annual CCCR will occur the Friday before the Armed Forces Cycling Classic (AFCC), June 2, 2023. The AFCC is the largest race in this region that draws massive crowds to witness some of the country's top cyclists. Saturday, June 3, MKA will provide transportation for families and youth from the community to engage with the weekend's race festivities - exposing them to live criterium racing.

The Chocolate City Community Ride is a family affair. Even if you don’t ride bikes, come out for the local vendors, fitness activations, sunset walk/run, live gogo performance by LongLiveGogo, and Chocolate City vibes!
