29th Annual NERR Symposium 2017
Sat, Apr 1, 2017, 1:00 PM – Tue, Apr 4, 2017, 4:00 PM EDT
Change has started....
This is the inaugural year of the National Environment and Recreation Research Symposium, the new official name of the NERR conference. This new name better reflects the broad research perspectives of the Symposium than the previous Northeast Recreation Research title, and also more accurately describes the participants who travel to the conference from all over the United States and from other countries as well.
A new not-for-profit organization has been formed to organize and host the symposium beginning now and into the future. The objectives of the National Environment and Recreation Research Association are: 1) to foster an interdisciplinary scientific understanding of the relationships between humans and the natural environment in outdoor recreation and tourism-related contexts; 2) to further the application of social science information in natural resource decision-making; and 3) to provide a mechanism for social scientists, resource managers, practitioners, agency personnel, and decision makers to discuss and exchange information and knowledge.
