About this event
Join us March 11th for the Annual Frank & Bethine Church Gala. Hear from a fantastic lineup of speakers and enjoy a quality dinner with fellow Idaho Democrats.
Now entering its 29th year, the Frank and Bethine Church Gala is the premier social event for Idaho Democrats. Each year, hundreds of Democrats from every corner of Idaho gather in Downtown Boise for a rich evening featuring local and national leaders in the Democratic Party.
Keynote Speaker: Mandela Barnes!
We are pleased to announce that our featured keynote speaker at the Frank and Bethine Church Gala will be former Lt. Governor and candidate for U.S. Senate from Wisconsin Mandela Barnes. Mandela Barnes has spent his career working for Wisconsin’s working people. He served in the Wisconsin legislature, became the state’s 45th Lt. Governor - the state’s second-ever Black statewide elected official, and ran a record-breaking U.S. Senate campaign. As Lt. Governor, Mandela worked closely with Governor Evers to help Wisconsin recover from the pandemic and served as the chair of the Governor’s Task Force on Climate Change. In his historic U.S. Senate campaign, he broke state fundraising records and came one point away from unseating a two-term incumbent in Wisconsin’s closest Senate election in 100 years. Determined to support other diverse and groundbreaking candidates in their runs for office across the country, Mandela. founded the Long Run PAC in 2022 to ensure candidates have a fair shot.
Plus, remarks from featured speakers Boise Mayor Lauren McLean and more!

Are there reduced-rate tickets available? Yes, we understand that the Frank and Bethine Church Gala is pricey for some, especially our Young Dems. The ticket pricing is set such that we can have a high-quality experience at a nice venue while also raising the funds IDP relies on to operate in an election year. That being said, we have a long tradition of not letting money get in the way of attending. If you’d like to request financial assistance, email dakota@idahodems.org for free or reduced ticket-pricing.
Meeting of the State Central Committee: The regular State Central Committee Meeting takes place prior to the Frank and Bethine Church Gala at the Boise Centre. You must register for the meeting separately.
