Mieczsław Karłowicz - Serenade for Strings, Op. 2 (1898) - beautiful music you've likely never heard from a Polish composer who died tragically in an avalanche in 1909.
Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26 will feature guest artist Fiona Shea, violinist, a young virtuoso talent from the famous Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles.
Following intermission, Symphony #5 in E-flat major, Op. 82 by Jean Sibelius will complete the concert.
