ABOUT THE COURSE

Once again, the Annual Internal Medicine Update Course will be theme focused. The theme is “The Patient, The Physician, and The Transformation of Health Care: What’s Hot? What’s Not?” Our discussions will attempt to provide the latest approaches both diagnostic and therapeutic for common conditions seen in a primary care practice. The speakers will provide appropriate patient-centered information. Additionally, topics such as palliative care for our patients and supportive care for our physicians who face ever-increasing stress from a variety of sources including EMR, insurers, and practice difficulties. We look forward to seeing you!

The conference is at NEOMED in the new conference center where the curriculum will include sessions from the specialties of Internal Medicine including oral health. A variety of educational formats will be used including interactive case discussions, lectures, audience response, and question and answer sessions.

At the completion of this conference, participants will be able to:

  • help providers and patients engage in conversations about support efforts to help patients make smart and effective care choices.
  • identify the role of the primary care physician in the management of these conversations;
  • utilize current advances in the diagnosis and treatment of these common problems, using whenever possible, an evidence-based approach; and
  • interact and question nationally acclaimed speakers on a variety of common clinical scenarios from medical practice.

Northeast Ohio Medical University designates this live activity for a maximum of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
