Description

2/8 KPH & The Canary Collective Album Release with Mutual Benefit and Namii

It's time to heal our bodies and the earth holistically! KPH & The Canary Collective (Kaeley Pruitt-Hamm) is releasing an album in February called "The Canary Collective: Vol 1" celebrating sensitive canaries in the proverbial coal mine: people with chronic illness who are struggling to afford healthcare and safe water, food, air, and housing.

Partially funded by an Arts Project grant from King County's 4Culture, the album features guest artists such as Luz Elena Mendoza of Y La Bamba, Nataly Dawn (solo artist and in band Pomplamoose), and poets such as Afrose Fatima Ahmed, Leland Chazen, and Tara Hardy.

The night will include special performances from gender-bending performer Namii, KPH & The Canary Collective as a full band with strings, and Brooklyn-based Mutual Benefit.

This is a benefit show and 40% of ticket sale proceeds after costs of production will be donated to two wonderful environmental and social justice organizations: the queer black holistic healing and performing arts organization Earth Pearl Collective and youth-led climate justice organization Sunrise Movement.

This a special performance format and we request that everyone be present from the beginning of the show at 6:30pm to the end (9:30pm) if possible, as you would for a theater performance.

No One Turned Away for Lack of Funds; Sliding Scale Ticket Cost - you may pay more if you feel so called and you will have opportunities to donate more in cash or card the night of the event to any of the artists or organizations involved as well as purchase merchandise from each artist.
