Please Register for the Special CABA Reception

The Children’s Africana Book Awards (CABA) are presented annually to the authors and illustrators of the best children’s and young adult books on Africa published or republished in the U.S. The awards were created by Africa Access and the Outreach Council of the African Studies Association (ASA) to encourage the publication and use of accurate, balanced children’s materials about Africa.

The CABA Reception takes place on Friday April 5 at 6:00 p.m. in the Reading Room, Blackburn Center, Howard University. The Reception requires registration. The Awards Ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm in Blackburn's Gallery Lounge across from the Reading Room.

The CABA Festival will be held the next day, Saturday April 6th at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art. It is open to the public. without registration.
