Event Details

A fun, free event with competition for everyone! 

26 Trophies / Plaques / Awards

Two divisions: Open for all ages (one section) and Junior (three sections).

Junior division has three sections: Grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8 (for players aged 14 and under).

These junior division sections will be called respectively Knights, Queens and Kings!

5 Rounds: Open (Game/30; d5) / Junior (Game/20; d5) – Limited to 104 entries

On-site Registration: 9:15am to 9:45am; 1st Round: 10am

Tournament area opens at 9:15 am – please pre-register online by Friday and check-in by 9:45 am Saturday,  or else register in person no later than 9:30 am Saturday to assure first round pairing

This event will not be rated by US Chess but will follow USCF rules and published ratings for pairing purposes.

ASAP pairings (ASAP = as soon as possible)  Please don’t disappear between rounds! Grab lunch when you can -- enjoy Pilsen -- but this event does not offer a formal lunch break. Please respect the schedule!

US Chess Senior TD Bill Feldman on behalf of Hector Hernandez & KMCC

Bill Feldman is a Senior Tournament Director with US Chess and guided the Illinois Chess Association website during its selection as the top state chapter site in the US during 2016. Hector Hernandez is the Lozano Branch Manager and is a Class A tournament player. Mr. Hernandez has organized the Knight Moves Chess Club for more than a quarter of a century. The KMCC meets Thursdays at the Lozano Library in Pilsen and there is no cost to attend.
