The Historical Society of Islip Hamlet will be hosting its 23rd Annual Holiday House Tour on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. This festive day has become the hallmark start of the Holiday season for good reason.
This self guided tour will take you to into a collection of historically and/or architecturally interesting homes in Islip Hamlet. This year we are lucky enough to feature a homestead that was part of the original Peters Estate which was built circa 1890's. The homes are decorated for the holidays and will inspire many architecting, home decorating and holiday decorating ideas. Our guides will greet you at each home. They are well versed in the history of each property and will be outfitted in home-made Victorian dresses to add to the charm of the tour. Houses will be open to the tour from 12 pm through 4 pm.
We will, again, be collecting toys for the USMC ‘Toys-for-Tots’ campaign. Please consider donating a new, unwrapped toy.
Our holiday reception will be held this year in the Presbyterian Church of Islip from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. It will include live entertainment, refreshments, a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle.
Tickets purchased through Eventbrite must be redeemed for a tour booklet at the Presbyterian Church of Islip between the hours of 11:30-1:30. Booklets will provide a history of each house, a map for directions, and entry to each home.
This event occurs rain or shine. No children under 16 will be permitted.
