Event description

Description

The BSBI Brotherhood is hosting their 22nd Annunal Golf Tournament.

This year it is in support of the Connecticut Children's Medical Center's Pediatric Oncology Unit.

Not only will it be a great day for a great cause, but we will also have:

  • Over $5,000 in Raffle and Auction Prizes!
  • A chance at a trip for 2!
  • A chance to win a new car, courtesy of Lynch Toyota!!

The Abitz-Angel Memorial Tournament is
sponsored by the Men’s Club of Beth Sholom
B’nai Israel to raise funds for charitable causes.
Our efforts are inspired by Todd Abitz, who was
a member of Congregation B’Nai Israel and was
instrumental in starting and sustaining a charity
golf tournament. Todd was a popular and
dedicated member of the B’Nai Israel Men’s
Club, who chaired the Golf Tournament in 1998
and 1999. The Tournament was originally
renamed in his memory.

William “Bill” Angel played in the tournament
for most of its existence and contributed
generously to it for many years. Bill was an avid
sportsman and high school football coach. Bill
and his wife Linda, along with their children
Melanie and Derek, were members of Temple
Beth Sholom. Bill passed away in September,
2017 from a brain tumor. His sense of humor,
energy and compassion for family, friends and all
activities that he participated in will be greatly
missed by all. He asked that memorial donations
go to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center
Foundation for Pediatric Oncology. That is why
we are partnering with CCMC for the first time
this year as a major beneficiary of this
tournament.
We are certain that Todd and Bill would be
pleased that the tradition of raising funds to help
local people in need has continued.
