Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Are you looking to make a change in the world but are not sure how to help? Want to learn how to be a more active and engaged citizen? Then this program is for you!

The topics that will be covered in this three hour class will include Individual Action (voting, public meetings, recognition of elected officials), Basics of Working Together (leadership, critical thinking, diversity), and Community Change (theory of change, social marketing).

This is the pilot launch of a new program from UF/IFAS Extension that supports current efforts to engage in civic dialogue. During the pilot, the program will be offered at no cost to you except for the cost of the training tools (Critical Thinking Inventory (required) and Community Change Certificate (optional)). The total costs for these tools to non-UF affiliates is $325 but you will receive access to the UF CTI at a discounted rate.

In order to ensure manageable class sizes during the pilot, the session will be limited to 12 participants. We have provided two dates for registration – the date with the most interested applicants will be chosen as the pilot class date. If you choose the date that is not selected, you will be notified and offered an option to attend if your schedule has changed.

Registration limited to 12 participants.
