Event description

Description

Whether it's the reaction induced between two creative contraptions or the joyful reactions sparked on the faces of spectators, the MIT Museum's Friday After Thanksgiving (F.A.T.) Chain Reaction is a one-of-a-kind engineering feat that must be seen to be believed!

Attend as a spectator and watch teams link a giant, Rube Goldberg-esque chain reaction at our 21st annual F.A.T.! Popular hosts Arthur Ganson and Jeff Lieberman will be on hand as teams put together their own contraptions, link them together, and then set a ball in motion, moving from start to finish in a giant loop.

This year's theme is Twenty-WON! With so many games whose winning condition is to reach 21 points, we're looking forward to watching the creativity unfold.

Registration opens October 1, 1:00 p.m.

Online ticket sales end 11:59 pm on November 22. Ticket includes admission to the MIT Museum on Nov. 23.

The event takes place from 1-4 p.m. at MIT's Rockwell Cage Gymnasium, 106 Vassar Street, Cambridge, MA 02139.
