Event Details

Despite any good intentions to eat healthier during the winter months, we often find ourselves unsatisfied and undernourished - especially during the holiday season! Join Chef Kristi of The Brown Girl Cooks in this hands on culinary class as she shows you how to make traditional holiday side dishes with fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. Chef Kristi will educate on how flavors can enhance the enjoyment of food. Vegetarian with optional dairy.

Instructor: Kristi Brown, That Brown Girl Cooks  
Chef Kristi Brown-Wokoma, lovingly known as the ‘Chef Goddess’, has been committed to serving up culinary  deliciousness since 1986.  Her brand focuses on the art and experience of food through Culinary artivism. Culinary activism, the cultivation of fresh food and cooking as a means to bring people together, healing communities through the love and medicine of food. Her cooking style is a mélange of global and local flavors rooted in her African American background.

With 26 years of cooking experience, the Chef Goddess has worked her way from the front of the house to the back, including creating a Seattle town favorite, That Brown Girl Catering, which is been transformed into That Brown Girl Cooks! (TBGC)  TBGC is a foodie lifestyle company which includes:  Interactive Cooking classes, Personal Chef services, Pop-up restaurant events and food products with its inaugural creation - Black Eye Pea Hummus!!!

Registration is required in advance for culinary programs. All proceeds benefit educational programming at 21 Acres and initiatives related to accelerating social change toward more sustainable ways of growing, eating and living that protect the environment while supporting a better quality of life.
