Join chef Archana Verma as she leads us in this hands-on culinary experience making a favorite Indian recipe, paneer (aka Indian cheese)! Guests will help create a dinner menu that will include vegetarian, Indian-inspired kitchen staples like saag paneer using five basic spices - cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne and garam masala. The spices will also be showcased in daal (lentils) with winter squash and pulao (cumin, cinnamon, and bay leaves served over cracked emmer grain. Vegetarian with dairy, optional wheat.
Instructor Archana Verma:
Archana Verma was born in a foodie household in North India where her father craved comfort and decadent foods every day and her mother created and made those foods available. So, it was an inevitable case of “an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” when the love for creating and sharing food came calling to Archana after ten years of being a software engineer. In 2009, Archana gave up her software career and decided to become a culinary instructor for Vegetarian Indian food. Becoming a culinary instructor has been a journey of great pleasure for Archana as it combines her passion for food as well as human communication. Archana has lived in North America for more than half her life and so now the food at her dinner table is informed by both Indian and world food traditions.
