Event Details

Wine and cheese is a classic pairing with an infinite number of combinations! Join Meghan McKenna, cheesemaker at Cherry Valley Dairy, and wine and cheese connoisseur, Cat Olson, on a tasting adventure to explore pairing possibilities. We’ll be sipping wines from local, Salmon-Safe wineries and nibbling cheeses from local dairies like Glendale Shepherd on Whidbey Island. In this class you will learn how to identify subtle nuances of flavor and create perfect pairings. Learn how to create a beautiful cheese board and walk away with tips of the trade for throwing your own wine and cheese pairing party. Vegetarian, with dairy, wheat optional.

Instructor: Meghan McKenna, Cherry Valley Dairy, and Cat Olson

Cat has the ability to make a spontaneous gathering of friends feel like a party planned for months. She cooks with whole foods, often plucked from her own garden, and simple recipes that always impress. Cat's classes are fun and full of great ideas for feeding your family. She has been a caterer and private chef, and is now a cook-from-home mom to 2-year-old Oscar—easily her most discerning palate to date. Her greatest joy is realizing there are enough tidbits left over in the fridge to put together a meal.

Registration is required in advance for culinary programs. All proceeds benefit educational programming at 21 Acres and initiatives related to accelerating social change toward more sustainable ways of growing, eating and living that protect the environment while supporting a better quality of life.

The more the merrier!
