Farm to Table Cooking Camp

For ages 7-11.

Join us for a fun week of cooking, playing and exploring on the 21 Acres Farm! Each day we will whip up two hands-on recipes using ingredients fresh from the farm. Think dumplings, creative salads, desserts, and sauces. Campers will gain invaluable cooking skills as they work individually or in teams to create and share wholesome meals each day. By the end of this week-long camp, students will have the practical skills necessary to begin cooking at home and the knowledge necessary to eat food in a wholesome, nutritional, and sustainable manner. All ingredients are locally sourced through the 21 Acres Center.

We’re pleased to host Seattle Cucina Cooking School for these camps. Co-founders Alice and Erica teach in local schools, community centers and after-school programs in the greater Seattle Area. They lead creative, hands-on classes to improve students' nutrition, how they relate to their families and community, and how they participate in sustainable food systems.

The camp focus is on cooking concepts and recipes made outdoors and fresh from the farm. Campers will cook up two delicious meals plus playing fun games and getting creative with food-art projects!

Skills include:

  • Basic knife skills
  • Sauté, braising, baking, and roasting skills
  • Learn about seasonal, summer produce
  • Exploration of a farm and farm system

Class fee includes two meals. Contact 21 Acres with any dietary requests. A vegetarian option is available; allergens are dairy and eggs.

Registration is required in advance for all programs. All proceeds benefit educational programming at 21 Acres and initiatives related to accelerating social change toward more sustainable ways of growing, eating and living that protect the environment while supporting a better quality of life.

The more the merrier! Our programs are twice as much fun when they’re full. 21 Acres reserves the right to cancel any class, camp, or event that fails to meet the minimum enrollment numbers required for instructor participation. 21 Acres may also cancel events due to chef/instructor illness or inclement weather. If 21 Acres cancels an event, students will be notified and a full refund will be mailed or a credit issued on the credit card used. Learn more about 21 Acres’ cancellation and refund policy.
