Description
This October, we’ll be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Harold Strope’s heart transplant. Harold received his new heart in October 1995 at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
In 1995, Harold traveled almost 200 miles by ambulance from Albany, NY to Boston, MA to receive his new heart. To celebrate his health and life, he's cycling that same route from Albany to Boston. Read more about Harold's story.
We're hosting a party on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 3-6 pm at the Liberty Hotel to celebrate Harold's life and thank all family, friends, and especially the team at Mass General Hospital for all of their support.

About the organizer
Organ Donor for Life is a national campaign to increase the number of organ donors in the United States.
The campaign was established in July 2010 in celebration of Harold’s health after his 1995 heart transplant at Massachusetts General Hospital. To celebrate his life and health, Harold began cycling and participating in triathlon and cycling events. Through his activities, he aims to raise awareness about how organ transplantation can save lives.
