20th Annual Virtual Appreciation Event
Event Information
About this event
The Brazos Valley African American Museum is the first establishment of its kind to promote the history of African American citizens in the Brazos Valley.
Due to COVID-19 and the devastating effect it has had on our ability to generate revenue, your generosity is more important than ever to ensure the museum remains open to the community. This year, we are transitioning this event into a virtual experience with speaker and honoree presentations.
The Annual Appreciation Event recognizes outstanding community citizens. This event is intended to recognize the accomplishments of individuals in our community, but is also the most important fundraiser for the Museum whose budget is dependent on the success of the event. The event helps the Brazos Valley African American Museum to operate the museum, offer programs for the community and school children, bring in new exhibits, provide staff development opportunities, and conduct school outreach and activities.
Our honorees this year are Helen Chavarría, Former Bryan City Councilmember; Essie Childers, Blinn College; Al Pulliam, Texas A&M Foundation; Anjuli "A.J." Renold, Red Cross; and Rev. Derron Robinson, Bryan ISD. Our speaker is Ms. Ebony Peterson.
