Amy X Neuburg (Oakland)
Amy X Neuburg is known for her unique “avant-cabaret" works for voice, electronics, and ensembles. She began her electronic music explorations in the ‘80s with vocal multi-tracks and modular synths, and then was one of the earliest artists to work creatively with live digital looping, which she combines with percussion and colorful lyrics. Solo highlights include Other Minds Bang on a Can, Berlin International Poetry Festival, Wellington and Christchurch jazz festivals (NZ), Warsaw Philharmonic. As composer, recent commissions include SF Chamber Orchestra, SF Girls Chorus, Paul Dresher Ensemble, Del Sol String Quartet, Risa Jaroslow Dancers. Awards include grants from Gerbode, Hewlett, Lef, and Arts International, and the Alpert/Ucross prize.

Jim O'Rourke
Composer/improviser/producer
Jim O'Rourke has recorded as a member of the experimental rock groups Gastr Del Sol, The Red Krayola, Brise Glace and Yona Kit, recorded albums of pop rock, guitar improvisation and musique-concrète on the Drag City, Staalplaat, Extreme, Divided, Entenpfuhl and Metamkine labels, released collaborative recordings with Loren Connors, Henry Kaiser, K.K. Null, Gunter Muller, Eddie Prevost, Evan Parker, Phill Niblock and Mats Gustafsson, and produced albums by Tony Conrad, Faust, Melt Banana and Space Streakings. O'Rourke was most active as a producer and member of Sonic Youth during the '00s, but he left the band in late 2005. In 2005 he began performing with saxophonist Akira Sakata in Japan. That lead to an ongoing quartet with drummer Chris Corsano and acoustic bassist Darin Gray (aka Chikamorachi). O'Rrourke then produced Sakata's Friendly Pants, the first American release by Sakata in more than 20 years. He has continued to perform with the quartet in Japan.

MY CAT IS AN ALIEN (MCIAA)
MY CAT IS AN ALIEN (MCIAA) are the outsider duo of experimental instantaneous composers, performers and visual artists formed by brothers Maurizio and Roberto Opalio in 1998. They live and work between Turin (Italy) and a secret location in the Western Alps. Multi-instrumentalists, they shape their sound with self-made string instruments and modified electronic devices—“alientronics”—alongside Roberto ’s distinctive vocalizations. MCIAA’s massive and highly innovative body of work counts collaborations with vanguards including Christian Marclay, Keiji Haino, Z’ev, Lee Ranaldo and Thurston Moore, about 200 records and art editions, the cover of The Wire, international festivals, and a 3-day opening performance at the 2017 Venice Art Biennale. In 2019 MCIAA began their third decade of activity launching ‘Spiritual Noise’ record series through their new intermedia Antigravitational imprint.
