20th Annual FixUp! Mid City Day of Service

Thank you for your interest in serving the Mid City Baton Rouge community for the 20th Anniversary of FixUp! Mid City. Without volunteers like you we would not be able to pull off this event.
In this 20th anniversary year we are "Lending a Hand to Those Who Help" by focusing on providing aid to nonprofits and churches in the Mid City area. The anticipated project sites are:

Volunteer Leaders Needed!!!
Do you consider yourself a leader or someone who likes to go the extra mile? Sign up for one of our specialized volunteer positions. Volunteers filling these roles will have to attend a Volunteer Orienation on Friday, April 19th at 3pm.
- Set-up Team:
Arrive at 7am to help unload the trucks at the project so that work can begin as early as possible.
- Registration Team:
Two shift options: The Morning Shift will arrive at 7am for volunteer check-in and to serve breakfast. The Afternoon shift will serve lunch and verify the volunteers check-out prior to leaving their shift.
- Break Down Team:
Will help to reload the trucks at the end of the work day. May be needed to work past 4pm.

We also have volunteer opportunities available the days prior to help us get ready for this big event.
- Tshirt Crew:
Help us organize t-shirts and volunteer registration forms for each site location.
Help us sort and load materials for each project site prior to the work day.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Photo ID is not required at the event. Please note that the minimum age for volunteers is 14. If you are under the age of 18, a parent will need to sign your volunteer registration form prior to or on event day.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There are parking lots and on street parking at each project site. However, if you are able to carpool please do so to minimize congestion.
What should I wear for the event?
Wear cool, comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting paint or dirt on.
- Closed toe shoes only. Work boots are preferred but thick soled tennis shoes with a soild grip sole are permitted. No slip on shoes or Crocs.
- No skirts or dresses
- An event day tshirt will be provided. This can be layered over an under shirt of your choice.
- Pants or shorts must not be tight fitting. Shorts must not be shorter than mid-thigh in length.
- No dangling or bulky jewelry of any kind is permitted.
- We ask that long hair is pulled back so that it doesn't obstruct vision or lead to any accidents.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. However, the process will be expedited if you have it with you.
Are there any incentives for becoming involved and giving of my time?
Glad you asked. Other than that "feel good" feeling we get when we do something for others in need; you will receive the following as a token of our appreciation:

- FREE Breakfast and Lunch
