Event Details

Welcome to the 20th Annual CA H&V Family Camp Southern California Registration Page! Family Camp is hosted annually over Memorial Weekend in Julian, CA.

We are thrilled that your family will attend the California Hands & Voices DHH Family Camp at YMCA Camp Marston in Julian, California. Families travel near and far to attend DHH Family Camp year after year and we look forward to welcoming your family this year!

Get ready to kick up your heals because we plan to celebrate this milestone of 20 years!
More information will be released soon!

DHH Family Camp is an opportunity for families with children who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing to come together in a supportive and safe environment. Come to Family Camp and discuss issues related to raising children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing and walk away with life long friends.
  •  Learn from each other's experiences and share information
  •  Build lasting relationships for the entire family
  •  Focus on family issues and strengthen communications
  •  Discuss issues in a "spirit of inquiry"
While parents are attending workshops, the children participate in groups supervised by well-trained enthusiastic volunteers. Many of the counselors are Deaf and Hard of Hearing and serve as terrific role models. The children are grouped by age and enjoy arts & crafts, hiking, sports, and games with fellow campers. Children 1 and under must remain with their parents.

California Hands & Voices

California Hands & Voices is dedicated to supporting families with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing without judgement regarding communication modes or methodology. We’re a parent-driven, non-profit organization providing families with the resources, networks, and information to improve communication access and educational outcomes for their children. Our outreach activities (including DHH Family camp), parent/professional collaboration, and advocacy efforts are focused on enabling children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing to reach their highest potential.

At DHH Family Camp parents are respectful and non-judgmental. Each family has the unique opportunity to learn from and be supported by families who have children of all ages and who use a wide range of communication opportunities within their family. Parents attend educational seminars that focus on the family; including sibling and family bond and a variety of complex issues related to raising DHH children.

This event has become an anchor for many families who have come to value the opportunity to renew and create lasting friendships. You can find more information about the meals, facilities, cabins and other important information about Camp Marston at http://www.camp.ymca.org/camp-marston.html
